Farewell to 2011. {Picture Overload!}

A few of the things we did in 2011...
{with fair warning that I could not resist the picture overlaod!}
Settled into our new home.
Chose what to wear.
And remembered where my strength comes from.
Welcomed Max home from a year-long deployment - that was an amazing day!
Transitioned into living as a family of four.
Drank a LOT of coffee together!
Received a visit from the fire department, ha ha!
Made many trips to the beach.
Had a few Mama-Daddy dates. And got my first tattoo!
Enjoyed fireworks on the 4th of July.
Took a trip to MN for a few weddings.
Hung out in MN.
Packed up the whole household in the car to escape Hurricane Irene.
Had laundry helpers.
Took frequent Aquarium trips.
Learned (and still are!) how to love our brother.
Took goofy pictures of our dog, running.
FINALLY got our family photo wall up!
Experienced L's first Merry-go-Round ride.
Hung out at the Mullet Festival.
Had a 2nd birthday.
Got all dolled up for Halloween.
Celebrated Z turning 1!
Went to the Marine Corps Ball.
Moved into a "big girl" bed.
Captured some family photos.
Had a special day celebrating Max's birthday.
Made our own potato sausage.
Decked the house out for Christmas.
Made lots of fun family traditions to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
2011 has been a year packed with new adventures, transitions and experiences,
and we have created many fond memories.
I will remember 2011 as the year that:
-Max came home safely to us-
-we learned what it meant to live as a family of four-
-many family and friends came to grace us with their presence-
-Lucy joined our family-
-Z became a little toddler-man-
-L emerged as a precocious little girl-
-God blessed us beyond measure-
It's not been an entirely easy year,
as we've had our share of challenges and issues to work through,
but God is always faithful
and has always provided exactly what we need,
even when we have other ideas or plans.
Although this 2011 year has not been perfect,
it has been good and has grown us into better people,
and for that, I am thankful.
Farewell to you, 2011.
