Here we are.  June.  Where does the time go?!  Seriously.  It's the same old - some days feel like they drag on and on and on - and yet, time feels like it flies by.  Strange how that happens.  I'll be honest and don't know that I've made any kind of conscious effort to work on my goals, so any progress has been purely because of life happening.  Here's a little check-in...

1. Community Living: This goal/idea/thought has been the cause of great consternation within me lately.  I've been battling a lot of loneliness and feeling like I have no real community here.  I know I need community - we all do - and yet, it can be hard to get involved, to get to know people.  It takes time to build relationships, to pour into other people, to let other people pour into you.  I don't exactly know where to start, but do have a few ideas of some groups I can get involved with.  The main issue right now, is that it's the beginning of summer, and many of the groups take a break until September.  I guess that gives me time to research and get my booty ready for some community building in a couple of months?  Until then, I'll keep blogging and skyping and loving on those around me.

2. Weight Loss Physical Activity: I am changing this goal a bit, as I am pregnant and can't focus singly on losing weight right now.  Instead, I want to focus on staying active and moving my ever-growing body.  My goal is to workout 4-5 times a week, and to walk outside as much as possible (as much as weather permits?!).  With that said, I am doing pretty well.  There are definitely some days that I have zero motivation to get in gear and move my body, but most days I am excited to pop in those workout DVD's and wake-up before the day begins.

3. Read 15 books: I just finished another Karen Kingsbury book, and am in the middle of another (almost done with the series!).  Max and I got through the baby name books as well.  I have a few nonfiction books I want to pick up soon, but other than that, I am always open for fiction suggestions - any good books out there for my summer reading list??

4. Manual photography skills: Still working on using my camera in manual as much as possible.  I feel like I am learning, slowly, but surely.  I still need to take the time to sit down and read some technical tutorials to understand my camera better.

5. Outside walks and playtime: With the weather warming up and the sun shining a lot, we have been out walking almost everyday (pretty much unless it's raining...), and with the afternoons being pretty hot lately, we spend a lot of time out on the porch, either playing in the pool, or just hanging out in the breeze.

6. Creative and structured toddler activities: Yeah, no progress here.  I need motivation big time.

7. Journal consistently: Has not been happening.

8. Date night 1x/month: We haven't had our date night for June (yet!), but did go out to see The Avengers (so much fun, especially in 3D!) and for some tasty FroYo a few weeks ago.  It was awesome being out, just the two of us.  I am eager to do it again soon.

9.  Grow a garden: Check it out!

10. 10 minutes of "Be Still and Know" time: I have been reading my Bible everyday, and trying really hard to carve out 15ish minutes to sit and think and talk to Jesus in a more structured way.  Have you heard of SheReadsTruth?  It's an online community of women who are committed to getting in the Word -  being with Jesus, learning, accountability - it's been really cool seeing what other women are learning, and knowing I am not alone.

11. Craft time: I finally set up my crafty space a few weeks ago, which rocks my socks off!  I love that I have a desk that my sewing machine can stay on, and I can just go work on projects as time permits.  Really, it's just the time permits thing that gets me.  I need to learn to make more or allow myself set time to go upstairs and work on the little things I want to accomplish.  In the next few weeks, my goal is to make 2-3 hours a week to set aside solely for me to go sew.

12. Baby #3: Growing, growing, growing!!

  1. This is such a nice idea, and it is very inspiring to follow your progress. :)
I am going to get started with a craft space of my own here at home today too, have been planning it for ages, but haven't had the time to fix it. At the moment all my crafty stuff is piled under a table in Luka's room - NOT practical now that he is growing and starting to crawl. :)

I also think I might let myself get inspired by your bible-reading. I have never taken the time to read the bible as a whole, in the extremely secularised Sweden it is not that easy to get the motivation to strenthen your faith, heh. But reading about your reading is totally motivating me! So, tonight I will start my own bible project. :)

Hope everything is great with the babes! So sad we won't see you this summer... We are planning our US-trip now, and though it is super exciting I start to realize how many people we won't be able to see. Sad. Well, next reunion we hope to make it.

oops, this became really long...sorry bout that ;)
