Easter in Charlotte

Monday, April 01, 2013

We headed to Charlotte for Easter weekend, to visit with my Great-Aunt Kathy and Uncle David.  It was a whirlwind, jam-packed trip, but we all had a blast.  We dyed Easter eggs, soaked up the fresh air outside, watched movies, ate lots of yummy food, did an Egg hunt, got treats at a coffeeshop, spent time catching up with relatives and friends, took naps, went to Easter church, saw the Easter bunny, and enjoyed one another's company.

Easter might be my favorite holiday.  Not for the eggs and candy and bunnies and hoopla - but because of the reason we celebrate, because of what Jesus did on that cross, for me and for you, and because 3 days after Jesus hung on that tree, He rose again.  He conquered death, He defeated the grave, He rose victorious, for me and for you.  All to the glory of God.  Celebrating THAT - his death and glorious resurrection - is why I love Easter.

An attempt at a family picture.  Why do I feel it's gonna be years before we'll get a good one with everyone looking at the camera?!
The kids - Eliana & Ezra - with their "cousins" (they are actually the girls of my mom's cousin...).
Egg Hunt at Kathy & David's church.
Bubbles with Uncle David.  I love Ezra's face!
Hot cocoa treats at the coffeeshop (the kids shared, so her cup wasn't ever that full, lol!)
 Walking with their Great-great-Uncle David.
Kathy & David with Bryan & Kathy, and their girls.
My girls in their sweet Easter dresses from Auntie Abby. Be still my heart.
 Kathy & Evie.
 Such a sweetheart.
Another family photo attempt!  At least 4 out of 5 looking this time!
Uncle David and Ezra, who adores him to pieces.
This must be framed. I can't get enough of this one.  Love Evie's grin.
I love how Max loves our babes.
 Aunt Kathy and the girls.
Mama & Daddy.  Don't look too close, you'll see Evie spitting up.  Just keeping it real here, friends.
Ruffles!
 My little stud muffin.

My Eliana, who is growing up so fast!
