Daddy's Day 2011.

Sunday, June 19, 2011

It's been a little quieter than I intended on the blog.
Last week got a bit busier than I expected.
There was lots of cleaning and organizing and packing.
All so that we could come to Charlotte for the week.
My mom, Grandma, Aunt and cousin are here visiting my Great-Aunt and Uncle.
So we decided to come visit as well!
Unfortunately, Max had to drive back to work for the week.
But the kids and I are here, hanging out with family, enjoying the heat (and the pool) and relaxing.

We have had a great weekend.
Max and I left the babes with all the doting woman-relations, and had a date afternoon on Saturday.
It was simply fantastic - stay tuned for photos and stories tomorrow :)

Saturday evening, steaks were thrown on the grill to celebrate Father's Day.
And we were able to celebrate this guy:

The celebrating continued Sunday morning.
We got up and headed out to a delicious brunch, where we shared stories of our dad's.
And asked Max his favorite thing about being a daddy.
His answer?!
Changing poopy diapers.
I'll let you figure out if he was joking or not...

Max left early afternoon to head back home for a week of work.
But, of course, we snapped a few family photos first.
L was not having much of it at first.

Max and his son.

The best shot (it's hard getting decent family photos with two babes, ha!).

I feel incredibly blessed to watch my husband with our babes each day.
He is a great daddy, and it fills me with joy to watch him interact with the two of them.
Watching him with our babes makes me fall more and more in love with the man.
I know that his main goal in life is to glorify God in all that his does - and I see that in the way that he is raising his children.
Happy daddy's day, to my dear Maxwell.

I could not end this without a little shout-out to my own dad, the infamous Papa D.
I was asked today what my favorite memory of my dad was.
And I could not come up with an answer.
There are too many.
My dad has to be the funniest, goofiest man I have ever met.
I am always laughing at one joke or another.
And even though he is always joking around, he has also taught and given me so much.
I am thankful for the way he lives his faith, the example he has been and the love he exudes.
My Papa D is an awesome dad and I am altogether blessed by him.
I love you, Papa D, happy father's day!
