Z @ 5 months.

The Z man is 5 months old (ok, ok, he was 5 months old a few days ago...).
And I thought I would share a bit about what he's up to these days!

My little man keeps me smiling all the time.
He is seriously such a happy, content baby!

I mean, don't get me wrong - he has his moments, but for the most part, he is easy-going and laid-back.
He absolutely LOVES bathtime and has a blast splashing me with his violent kicking.
He still makes dinosaur-like noises.
And not only does he make them, but he is a little chatter-box.  And a loud one, too.
EVERYthing goes in his mouth these days.
He rolls over from his tummy to back and from his back to tummy.
And if I lay him in one spot on the floor, he spins himself around and around within a few minutes.

Ezzy has started taking longer naps with Eliana during the day.
Which, honestly, I am loving.
It means that I get at least two chunks of time to get stuff done during the day. Just lovely :)
The Z man WAS doing alright with sleeping a good long chunk at night.
He would go to bed around 800pm and wake up around 0200 or 0300 to eat.
Then back to sleep until 0600 or 0700.
It wasn't bad.

But the past few weeks, something changed.
And it's been a bit brutal.
He's been waking up every 3-4 hours to eat again during the night.
At first I thought it might be a growth spurt.
But it's been happening for a few weeks now.
And I am one super tired mama.
I haven't slept for longer than a 3 hour stretch in awhile. Boo.

So I called and had a little talk with a Nurse and she suggested starting some rice cereal.
And we did.
This is what he thought about it...

Bwa ha ha.
The first night didn't go so well!
He spit it all out and cried and cried.
But it's, very slowly, getting better.
And he's, very slowly, starting to sort of eat it!
And he did sleep a bit longer last night!
Maybe it's working?!?

We've been trying to have him take a bottle if I am gone for a few hours.
But so far, he has refused.
He is not impressed with bottles. At all.
For now, that's fine - there is really no necessity for it - I am with him all day,
and he CAN go a few hours if I have an errand to run.

Ezzy adores L.
He thinks she is the best thing.
His little face lights up if she chatters to him or if she plays with him.
And she has started to interact more and more with him.
It definitely makes me smile.

Did I mention that I haven't been getting much sleep?
Due to small baby boys who get up every 3-4 hours to sleep?
And that my brain is all funky because of it?
Good.
Because all the thought trains in this mama's brain just crashed.
And I definitely forgot what else I wanted to say.
Oh well.
There it is.
Ezra.
5 months.
Love.
