MN State Fair.
Thursday, September 02, 2010Minnesota, seriously, has one of the greatest State Fairs around. For real. You probably think I just say that because I live here. But it's true. Look it up. It's not called the 'Great MN Get-together' for no reason - SO many people come out for it! It's awesome! They have lots of good food (mostly what I am referring to here is all the fried goodness!!!) - many varieties of which are on a stick! Plus, there are tons of exhibits, loads of animals, games, rides, a daily parade and OH so many people wandering around. It's fantastic. We made our annual trek to the Fair this week (L's first time out of my belly!!!) and here is some of our documentation:
L (yep, that's her in the little sunbonnet on the left!), across from the Main Gate. There was a policeman directing traffic and blowing whistles - she was enamored with him!
Ok, so we kind of failed on this mission. It started last year when I was preggo with L - we recorded everytime I went to the bathroom because I was sure I would go so much, being preggo and all - last year, my record was only 3 times. But as I said, this year we failed and this was the only photo we captured. I do think I went at least 5 times this year! Ok, maybe TMI, but I find it funny, since I'm preggo and apparently preggo's go to the bathroom so much!
L, making googly-eyes at the cow. Yes, she did bark at the cow at first. But then we worked on our moo-ing!
At the "Oink booth", in the Pig Barn, they pass out these sweet hats! L's was too big and she wouldn't keep it on. But I think Papa D wore his the entire day. Oh. And that's my brother on the right.
L, pointing at the pig, who kept oinking at us. The poor pig was so warm - the power had gone off, so all fans had shut down - and it was WARM out the day we went (I mean, I was sweating profusely ALL day - my little heater man was keeping me REAL warm, ha!).
This is biggest boar - every year they showcase the biggest boar. He's big, let's just leave it at that. The reason this picture is in here is because he is being watered, and I found it quite humorous. Who WATERS a pig?! With a watering can?! Bwa ha ha!
Of course, we had to make a stop at the Marine booth. Papa D and Kyle had a little chin-up competition. I'll leave the results for them to reveal :)
