Low-key weekend.

Our weekend, much like our last week, was fairly low-key.  I think that's just how it's going to be around here for awhile now, and I am totally ok with that!  Friday night, after the babes were in bed, Max and I hunkered down on the couch for some Lost and the first episode of Downton Abbey...which is my latest obsession, not gonna lie...

Saturday morning, Max woke up at 0530 (his usual weekday wake-up time) to go fishing/shrimping - I didn't even have to tell him to get out of bed when his alarm went off, so I knew he was pretty excited to go out.  He came home a few hours later with adventurous stories.  I think this early morning fishing thing might be happening more often on Saturday mornings!  We had a chill day and then some friends came over to put the babes to bed, so that Max and I could have a date night.  We got out the door a bit later than we wanted, so our planned time on the beach was cut short, but it was still nice to get out.  We came home, and may or may not have hunkered back down on the couch for more Downton Abbey (ok, to be fair, only I am watching it...Max sits on the couch with me and reads a book...but really, I guess that's just as nerdy, so whatevs!).

Sunday was church in the morning, and then I crashed with the kids after lunch.  I mean, the kids and I slept for almost 3 hours in the afternoon!  I woke up feeling much more rested, but not so great physically - I think I am fighting some little bug off, and that's why I've been so exhausted and feeling so down lately.  I pretty much woke up, made dinner, got the kids in bed, made Max a lunch, and fell back asleep for the night.  My energy was nonexistent.  I definitely woke up feeling a little better this morning, so hopefully that was that.  Ah well.

Not sure why I just felt the need to ramble about every little detail of our weekend, but oh well.  There you have it.  On Friday, the kids were helping me fold the clean laundry, and they decided that it was imperative to wear some of Daddy's white shirts.  They ran around and around in them for a few hours.  It was way too cute!
I think this is what the majority of our Saturday morning looked like, once Daddy got home from his adventures - the babes pulled most of their toys out, made Daddy lay down, covered him with blankets, and then sprawled on him/with him/by him.  They had a blast.
So, that was our weekend.
How was yours?
