Splish Splash

The kids got a blue, plastic wading pool and some sand/water toys for Easter.  I knew they would find much use this summer, and I wanted a hard pool to keep out where Lucy might roam (she can be a silly beast and chew on things...).  Earlier this week, it was warm enough, so L and I pulled out the pool while Ezzy was napping, and I let her have at it.
She had a blast.  Pouring water from container to container, trying to dump water on Lucy (which I had a hard time discouraging, because it was just too funny!), and splashing around in the pool.
Lucy kept looking at me, like she was hoping I would protect her from L.  With her droopy eyes, she looked pretty pathetic.  I shouldn't have felt too sorry for her - the day after our pool adventure, she chewed up a few of the toys - I was so angry with her, I could have hung her up by those long, floppy ears!
When Ezzy woke up from his nap, he joined in the fun.  He immediately started throwing water all over the place.  It was a wet (but very fun!) mess!
And of course, he can't do anything without his tongue hanging out these days.
L decided she would get rid of her shirt, so she could "swim" in the pool.  And sidenote: I think it's time for a haircut, ha ha!
I went in to start dinner, and Max was sitting out there with the kids.  I peeked out to see how things were going, and I see L's little bum - I guess she decided she didn't want her diaper on anymore.  She was upset Lucy was in the little chair, and was trying to get her out.  I started cracking up, and ran to grab my camera.  Total mama-daughter-blackmail picture, I am thinking...
I can't wait for the weather to warm back up, so we can spend some more afternoons splashing in the little pool.  I have a feeling it will be our go-to activity...especially when this mama gets hugely pregnant and it's HOT out!

  5. I love how she progressively got more naked as the day went on. Liberating, I'm sure! Keep that photo until she's 16 when you can thoroughly embarrass her!
