A visit from Auntie Aimee, part one.

Monday, January 23, 2012

I mentioned a few days ago that one of my bestest friends was coming for a visit.  Auntie Aimee arrived this past Friday, and we have had a fun weekend having her with us.  We haven't seen her since this summer when we made a trek to MN, and she hasn't been to NC since she helped move us in over a year ago.  Here is a little glimpse into our weekend...

L and Aimee playing legos // Aimee and L // Lucy watching the lego playing - all I imagine her saying is, "oh please, oh please, oh please let me chew on those"
Friday night, we had a typical Pizza (we made her our favorite Chicken Bacon Ranch) and Game night.  While we were waiting for the guys, us girls played a few rounds of Dominoes.  And we may have gotten a bit crazy...
Saturday morning, we headed to Wilmington to walk around and get lunch.  Of course we had to stop on the way for a vanilla chai - Aimee is the one that got me hooked on them, so it was only fitting!
 At lunch.
After lunch, we walked around for a bit, until it started raining on our heads and we decided it was time to pile back into the car.  We've been to Wilmington a handful of times for appointments or shopping or just for fun, and this was the first time we saw a boat going along.  I thought it was cool!

Aimee has been a huge help in potty-training L this weekend.  I think they've spent at least 5 hours in the bathroom by now!  L just wants to sit on the potty forEVER, ha!  We have had success though - she didn't potty in her diaper from the time we got home from church until she went to bed yesterday!  That means she told us each time she had to go and she did it!  Proud mama here!
While L is in the bathroom, Z has been dragging books around.  He LOVES to read.  He'll get a book, carry it to whoever is around to read, and then sit and look at the pictures and listen to the story.  After the book is over, he'll get down, and find a new book to look at.
The picture of Z and his daddy reading makes my heart happy!
Aimee is here a few more days.  We'll see what kind of adventures we find!
