The Great Christmas Music Debate.

My babes and I, in front of our tree this morning.
{I am embracing the camera today}

We listen to a lot of music around here.  And Christmas music is no exception.  In fact, there have been some great debates in the past, between Maxwell and I, as to when we should start listening to Christmas music each year.  You see, he is the kind of person that thinks Christmas music should be played 6 months out of the year.  I think he would be happy listening to it starting in September and continuing through March or so.  Yeah, I know, right?!  That's a long time to listen to Christmas music.

Now, don't get me wrong.  I love Christmas. A lot.  And I love Christmas music. But in my opinion, there has to be a definitive Christmas season, and that encompasses the music as well.  It used to be that, for me, Christmas music started playing the day after Thanksgiving.  And everything was good.

Until I got to know Max, and we began discussing Christmas music.  Actually, he came into work one day (in September, no less!) and announced that it was time to start the Christmas tunes already.  I was flabbergasted, to say the least.  I could NOT understand how a person could listen to Christmas music that long; I mean, doesn't it make it not so special then?!

To make a long story short, we agreed that October 15th was an appropriate middleground for us as a couple, to pull out the Fa La La's and Deck the Halls.  I know, that's probably pretty early for a lot of you, and that's ok, but this is works for us, ha!

All this to say, I have a few Christmas tunes to share with you today.
I have a lot of favorites, but here are a few of my favorites that I've heard this past week.  Enjoy!

  1. Wow, that IS early. I was chastised for playing it the week of Thanksgiving, which was semi-normal since it snowed ONCE that week.

    Good tunes selection as well. !!

  2. That is too funny. I am all about Christmas music too, but it kind of loses some specialness if it's played all year. We tend to stick to after Thanksgiving around here. :)
