Bananas!

Rice cereal with Ezzy last week?!
Not such a success.
He definitely cried when we gave it to him.
And then refused to open his little lips and eat it.
Sad day.
I was so hoping that he would gobble it up.
Which could mean a full baby belly.
Which might equal longer stretches of sleeping at night.
That was the ultimate goal.

After our failed attempt at rice cereal (we tried a few days in a row, don't worry!), I began to doubt.
I wondered if Ezzy wasn't ready to eat solids quite yet.
And I got worried that the wanting to nurse every 3ish hours at night wasn't going away any day soon.

But then, enter bananas.
They were a hit.
And I mean, a HUGE hit.
He LOVES bananas!

First bite of bananas.

Not quite sure what to think of them.

More, please?!

Eating them up.

Happy boy!

He gobbles up all the bananas I mash up for him.
And whines the minute that spoon is empty.
He gets half a banana in the morning.
And half a banana at night.
The smushed banana at night harbors some sneaky rice cereal!
I'm trying to fill his little belly!

We tried green beans a few days ago.
They didn't go quite as well as the bananas, but he tolerates them.
He's on his way, woot!

And the sleep department?!
It's MUCH better, thank the Lord!
He goes to sleep around 8pm and sleeps until 0200 or 0300.
Wakes up, eats and goes back to sleep until 0700ish.
I am definitely one happy mama!

Now, our next goal?!
Sleeping ALL the way through the night!
Oh how glorious that sounds!

  1. Awesome that it's working! :)

Try avocadoes! My best friend has a little girl and when she was starting with solids her first favourite was mushed up avocado.

    Lots of hugs from Belgium

  2. Aww! So cute. Good luck with bananas and more!

It took 6 (LONG) months before Millie consistently slept through the night, but it was one of the best things that has even happened in my life. :) I love my sleep!! Sounds like you're already getting more of it than before- yea!
