this week has gone by too fast. as much as love the fact that each week brings me closer to meeting our little one face-to-face, it is sad to think that summer is almost over. the turning of the weather will be a nice change, especially for this preggo who feels overheated all the time, but i truly do love summer heat and am sad we didn't have much of it this year. i have finally done it...my shopping that is. i have been putting off getting the basics for awhile, but had some discounts to use up before september, so figured it was about time. now, if the baby were to come early, we would be ready for her. i only bought what we would absolutely need, although there was a splurge on a clearance outfit or two...they were just too cute to pass up! i am in love with giraffes, which is great, as there are many giraffe motifs to be found within the baby realm. the one thing i am continually astonished by is how expensive babies are! buying diapers is a killer on the pocketbook! it's crazy to walk through the baby aisles of stores and see all the gadgets, clothes, "neccessary" items and realize that i don't need most of it. i can make do on the basics, and learn to work around not having some of it. we truly do live in a consumer society, in which they try to sell you on everything. makes me laugh.
