enjoying the spring weather!

it is so nice out today! i mean, last week, there were some fairly nice days and we enjoyed walking outside almost everyday, but today is gorgeous! it's warm, a little breezy and super sunny! i am loving it! i can't wait for summer to get here! i love the hot, sunny days!

we've been keeping busy around here. i went and helped some friends make their wedding invites on saturday. we got them all done, which i am sure was a relief to the bride and groom! and sunday, L and i went out to visit grandma judy and grandpa tom. we spent the afternoon out with them, had lunch and just hung out. they hadn't seen L since we had gotten back to MN and they loved being able to spend time with her. she even got her first easter basket from them! there is a photo below documenting it and it cracks me up. she decided that she didn't really like the photo session or something and started dramatically crying. lol!

L has been doing great with her rice cereal. she loves to eat it! and has been finishing it every time. we tried yellow beets and bananas last week, but she proceeded to throw them all up. so i guess we'll have to wait awhile to try them again. she still loves her avocado! and we tried carrots today and that went well. she finished her whole helping! we have been getting outside for a walk everyday and L absolutely loves being outside! i can't wait for this summer, to spend lots of time out in the backyard. we are all so excited to get her a pool and introduce her to swimming! i found the cutest little baby girl swimsuit last week for $3 and of course, all of us women are just excited to see her in it, ha ha!

i heard from max a few days ago again. he is doing his thing, said nothing was different since the last time i had heard from him. i am starting to get more used to the idea of only hearing from him once, maybe twice a week. we'll see if that is how it stays. i am really hoping and praying that eventually we may be able to skype. especially so he can see L and she can see him. i think that would be so encouraging for him and i know L would love to see her daddy!

i am now bound and determined to figure out how to make a good slideshow with pictures and video. i know it's a bit early, but i really want to make a slideshow of L's first year to send to maxwell and to have at her 1-year old birthday party. so i am going to start putting it together really soon and then i can just add photos and video as i take them! this means i have to be more diligent about taking pics and about learning how to best utilize my computer software. i think it's a great idea! well, i think that's about all for now! easter is just around the corner and of course, cute easter pictures!!!

L, in her new sun hat! she got so excited when we tried it on her!

L, with grandma judy and grandpa tom, and her easter basket. funniest thing ever!!!

she started using her "johnny-jump-up" this week. she thinks it's pretty cool!

  1. cute pictures! Suggestion for the slideshow (I did one for Mike when he was deployed about a "day in the life of Mom, Logan and Austin" and I used smilebox. also, photobucket is really good too! Easy to upload! Are you wanting to do it through email? Otherwise, snapfish has some good picture books that are easy to order! Hope you are doing well my dear, please email me or FB me if you ever need to vent! I pray the deployment goes fast and you stay strong!

  2. thanks elissa! i was thinking of making the slideshow with the movie maker on my computer, burning it to a dvd and sending it in one of his packages. he has a computer with him (no access to internet with it) and can download it that way. he hasn't set up his email account yet, as he would rather call than email at this point (which i definitely understand and appreciate), but maybe he will at some point during the year and i can send something that way as well! thanks for the suggestions, i will definitely keep those resources in mind! and thanks for the offer to vent! don't be surprised if i take you up on that at some point this year! hope you are doing well. have a blessed easter!
